My Enchanted Mesa sweater

Posted: Monday, February 10th, 2014 @ 5:55 pm in Knitting | 4 Comments »

I don’t knit shawls and wouldn’t follow Stephen West’s designs much. Usually don’t knit much any more either… But when a friend posted about Stephen West’s “Enchanted Mesa” sweater on FB just a few days after the release of the pattern… I fell in love ! Bought the pattern, printed it. And began to think […]

News, knitting and Xmas markets

Sorry for the seemingly abandonned blog, I seem to be writing more in my french blog now as most of my recent news are more local… no new pattern release yet (even though several only need a final polish !), so busy on other things ! In september my husband and a friend threw a […]

Plumetis stitch

Posted: Sunday, December 18th, 2011 @ 12:38 pm in chezPlum Patterns, Knitting | No Comments »

A customer asked me details about the “Plumetis stitch” I used in my Plumetis cardi knit pattern. So here’s a quick video showing you how to do it: it adds a lovely relief detail, and is really easy to make once you understand how it works :-)

Brunehilde, to frog or not to frog ?

Posted: Monday, October 18th, 2010 @ 6:15 pm in Crochet, Knitting, WIP | 1 Comment »

Poor photos, but am too impatient as always. I am in LOVE with the collar… but not too sure about the waist triangles. I had planned smaller ones, but changed my mind and made them bigger. Maybe I need to frog a few rounds and go back to my initial plan ?

Iro: a new sweater

Posted: Friday, October 15th, 2010 @ 6:20 pm in Knitting, WIP | 1 Comment »

Last winter I fell in love with this Iro bulky/boxy cardi, indulged in some of the most expensive yarn I ever bought for a sweater, and started to knit. It wasn’t finished during the cold season though, and waited all summer in a corner to be finished. (there was only a sleeve missing or something […]

Knits and wips, and “Spin off” fall 2010

Posted: Tuesday, September 28th, 2010 @ 10:14 am in Crochet, Knitting | 1 Comment »

I have a favor to ask: could someone help me get a copy of the current issue of “Spin Off” (fall 2010) ? There are several features I’d love to read (natural dyes, and articles by Jacey Boggs..) but it’s impossible to find it here in France. I’ll reimburse you all costs of course ! […]

More vintage french spindles…

Posted: Saturday, September 25th, 2010 @ 8:47 pm in Etsy, Knitting | No Comments »

Pushed by a customer, I have finally listed more vintage french spindles on Etsy today. Speaking of Etsy. I started a second shop to separate the DIY items (patterns, spindles, fiber…) from the items that are ready to purchase. My new store is called ChezPlum Things. For the moment I have mostly relisted items which […]

Tiny booties

Posted: Thursday, March 18th, 2010 @ 2:13 pm in Crochet, Knitting, WIP | No Comments »

Plume said last week that the dolls they have at school didn’t have booties any more. Knowing that I knit and crochet, the lady apparently said (probably half joking) “you should ask your mum to make them new booties”. Which I did, because nothing is more exciting than a new challenge. Of course I have […]

Oh the joy of knitting with Noro yarns…

Posted: Monday, February 22nd, 2010 @ 5:32 pm in book review, Knitting, Sewing, WIP | No Comments »

I have a few Noro books. I even indulged in the latest Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton “Noro” book, tempted by the story on “the man behind Noro yarns”. Well that part was very interesting, but it was only a few pages and I can’t say I’m thrilled by the designs presented in that book. :-/ “Knitting […]

New pattern, and a new cardi

Late on schedule, let me present you my newest pattern, the Baby Altay hat ! Based on the same principles as the adult version, the Altay hat (soon to be published in Annie Modessit’s new book “1000 knit and crocheted hats”). I made tons of those little hats, and they are so quick to make […]
