A customer asked me details about the “Plumetis stitch” I used in my Plumetis cardi knit pattern. So here’s a quick video showing you how to do it: it adds a lovely relief detail, and is really easy to make once you understand how it works :-)

Poor photos, but am too impatient as always. I am in LOVE with the collar…
but not too sure about the waist triangles. I had planned smaller ones, but changed my mind and made them bigger.
Maybe I need to frog a few rounds and go back to my initial plan ?

Last winter I fell in love with this Iro bulky/boxy cardi, indulged in some of the most expensive yarn I ever bought for a sweater, and started to knit. It wasn’t finished during the cold season though, and waited all summer in a corner to be finished. (there was only a sleeve missing or [...]

I have a favor to ask: could someone help me get a copy of the current issue of “Spin Off” (fall 2010) ?
There are several features I’d love to read (natural dyes, and articles by Jacey Boggs..) but it’s impossible to find it here in France. I’ll reimburse you all costs of course !
Finally [...]

Pushed by a customer, I have finally listed more vintage french spindles on Etsy today.
Speaking of Etsy. I started a second shop to separate the DIY items (patterns, spindles, fiber…) from the items that are ready to purchase.
My new store is called ChezPlum Things. For the moment I have mostly relisted items which were [...]

Plume said last week that the dolls they have at school didn’t have booties any more. Knowing that I knit and crochet, the lady apparently said (probably half joking) “you should ask your mum to make them new booties”.
Which I did, because nothing is more exciting than a new challenge. Of course I have millions [...]

I have a few Noro books. I even indulged in the latest Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton “Noro” book, tempted by the story on “the man behind Noro yarns”. Well that part was very interesting, but it was only a few pages and I can’t say I’m thrilled by the designs presented in that book. :-/

Late on schedule, let me present you my newest pattern, the Baby Altay hat ! Based on the same principles as the adult version, the Altay hat (soon to be published in Annie Modessit’s new book “1000 knit and crocheted hats”).
I made tons of those little hats, and they are so quick to make [...]

I finished my Quincy hat. I enjoyed knitting it very much, learning several tricks along the way (never worked with slipped stitches much before). And the pattern is very well written, looking so deceiptively simple I thought at first there were parts missing ;-)
I used some leftover Merino Bulky by Handpaintedyarn.com, (Cuarenta colorway, overdyed [...]

Booh, tryed to order some yarn from Phildar (quite exceptional for me, but my grandmother asked I crochet a blanket for her) online today, and it took forever. At 7am !! I tried yesterday but it wouldn’t even let me log in.
Can’t they get a decent server ? :-/ It seems there’s no Phildar [...]
