I crocheted 2 new hats for myself lately. The first one HAD to be once I figured out a pretty daisy motif (slighlty modified from a vintage “monTricot” stitch dictionary) for a cardigan for my niece. It just came out so pretty that I had to turn it into a hat. The yarn is some [...]

A customer asked me details about the “Plumetis stitch” I used in my Plumetis cardi knit pattern. So here’s a quick video showing you how to do it: it adds a lovely relief detail, and is really easy to make once you understand how it works :-)

I discovered Craftsy earlier this year, and was amazed to see how fast they worked on this website to make it better.
The online video classes there are amazing, really (forget about Youtube, this is SO much better). I took the one on Curvy crochet (to hopefully learn more about sizing for plus sizes) and love [...]

This morning’s mail brought back 2 of the 3 samples I submitted for the book “101 crochet one skein projects”. No big surprise, they rejected the two patterns which are already published (Disco beret and carré potholder). I made them with different color schemes and yarns, and added a pretty flower to the beret [...]

Life is busy here, and at the end of the day, there’s not much time for crafting… and even less for blogging about it. Yet, I have been crocheting some to double-check the new sizes I am adding to the initial Roselette top pattern. It will now include sizes up to 10 yo.. so I [...]

Some designers are super methodic, very fond of math and will tell you all about their grading systems, with 5 to 10 sizes for a single pattern… This has always scared me so much, looking like a different language I could never understand let alone speak.
For all the garments I designed so far, I [...]

We just got back from 2 weeks away: went to the beach, jumped in the swimming-pool, ate tons of ice-cream to keep us cool…
I managed to finish in time a third design to submit for that “One skein” crochet book. This one is for a cute little baby bolero, which I will probably also [...]

In order to double-check the pattern for my Jehanne hooded cardi before I hand it out to testers, I started a second one, this time in brown and green (=colors I had around). I’ll try to finish it before the festival in July… Crocheting as fast as I can ! :-)

Ages ago, I made those funky scarves, the first one being for a scarf show in Seattle (where it sold and I was so proud).
A lot of people commented how they liked the scarves… but I never got around writing down the pattern, mostly because I had such high strandards for it (wanted [...]

I had this ebook in mind for quite a while, a collection of matching projects for fashionable and funky kids and their moms. Now that the Jehanne capelet is finished, it was high time I got started on this ! :-)
There could be more projects, with matching slippers (Babouches and baby babouches) or hats (Altay [...]
