Vahine and crochet Patch
As this post will look much the same as last week’s one, I’ll start with a pic of my “VahināŠ” girls last week just before the snow…
I tried and tried but gave up on finishing the hoodie by friday night. I still have both sleeves AND the hood to do, there’s no way I could have been done by sunday. It’s getting quite boring too, especially changing colors every row. But I’ll stick to it. He’s still such a tiny littly baby it leaves me a few months before it even fits him..!
I finally sewed the patch on my jeans (was a little afraid it’d turn out terrible) and quite like the result. I need to make a couple more squares for another pair of jeans now.. It’s just too good an excuse to give those cute squares a try !
About the specs: the pattern for that square comes from a french “Marie Claire” crochet book, but there’s a close enough one called (how aptly !) “french square in the Crochet Stitch Bible. I started by roughly fixing the hole with regular sewing thread, sewed the square on so that it wouldn’t move anymore. Finally, I sewed all around with red cotton yarn for decoration…
And I’ve finally decided on the design I want for my socks. Ideally I’d like it to be a mix of these and those. If you look hard enough you’ll see one cable which I want to go along my outer ankle.. We’ll see how it goes.
