This morning, the girls were trying to find an occupation, and decided they wanted to “sew a princess”. I said fine, start with making your pattern/template then (which let me enough time to finish breakfast).
The princess first had no feet, and then had 4. A family of bugs it would be then :-) [...]

So my younger daughter – she just turned 5 this summer – really wanted a mermaid Barbie doll. Why buy it when we can make it ? I found this beautiful shiny silver fabric in an op shop lately, perfect for a mermaid !!
She also wanted to work on a crafting project, and do some [...]

On thursday, while hiking with my husband, I had a sudden inspiration: Baby Babouches !!
They were so easy to make, just downsizing my pattern. Now I only need to work out the sizing. :-)
Both girls were invited to birthdays last week, so we had a crafty morning together. The little one sewed [...]

Fall and winter are usually my most productive times of the year, when it comes to new patterns. But these days I just can’t seem to focus on anything, craftwise. Crocheting little things is about all I can manage, so I made several Altay hats. So quick and rewarding, and I can pretty [...]

Plume is going to a birthday this afternoon. We decided we would sew her friend a little book cover with felt.
Then the little sister wanted to sew as well, and it was a good occasion. I made her sew a wing on a little felt bird (her first ever sewing !) and she managed [...]

This week we’ve been away, house-sitting a beautiful place in Vercors (where we’re dreaming of moving to within a couple years) and taking care of the cats. As you can see, it’s not too shaby.. ;-) Great for the girls who can play outside all day, and great for the parents who can relax [...]

(see that super cool crochet tote in the background..? ;-)
Last week was Prune’s “fête de l’école”, kind of an open day to celebrate the end of the school year and show what the kids did. All the classes worked on recycling this year, visiting an expo of artwork made with recycled material, learning about [...]

Prune went a birthday earlier today. That of course meant bringing a present for the little girl. But I don’t like buying yet more plastic and/or brand toys or dolls … So I just got a little HelloKitty booklet of cards and stickers, and figured we’d make something cute by ourselves.
We started making a felted [...]

Arghh, I meant to show you a little experiment I made with Malabrigo (basically to see if the yarn pills as much when knitted vs crocheted) but it seems I forgot the little mitts I made in the chalet !! :-/ I guess I’m always forgetting something when coming home from vacations !! :-P forget [...]

I’m usually always SO cold when working inside on the computer all day. I’d be wrapping shawls and vests and things around my neck and bury my head in hooded sweaters… but I needed something more practical, and have been hunting Raverly for the perfect cowl/capelet pattern…
As usual I found tons of cool ones, [...]
