It was Easter school holiday here in France, and after many changes of plans, we managed to go down to the south (towards the Riviera) for a few days. Not the warmest days we’ve had there, but still enough for the girls to finally wear their summer dresses, and even dare walking in the freezing cold sea :-)

Just before we left, I finally managed to get my sewing machine to work again. In the process, I discovered online versions of the instructions manual for my vintage Singer 257. (actually, not the exact manual for that model, but close enough).
AND I discovered why I’ve been having all these issues with tension. Apparently there’s one thing I’m not doing properly. So I’ll bring my machine to the local Singer store and hire somebody to teach me the basics. Probably what I should have done 15 years ago when I first got it. Ahem… So totally me :-P
Anyhow, all this to say I managed to finish that skirt. With a pretty pocket and all. Just don’t look at the seams on the inside (did I say tension issues?!!). Still, it looks good. And Plume loves it now. She said she loves everything I make, how cute is that ?

Speaking of cute. Back in our mountains, I took the girls for some shopping for the very first time in their life yesterday. As in, shopping in a large clothing department store, for leggings and summer shoes. Rather the cheap version of clothing store too, but nice.
They were both amazed.
Plume: “Mum, we’ll call this shop “beautiful” because everything is so beautiful here” (with actual staring eyes at all the pretty dresses and skirts). It was a nice moment. :-D

Two little girls in their fashionable hand-made sweaters (which also look very comfortable) — how cute is THAT! ;-)

Your girls are so cute, you should bring your machine here and I’ll help you :0)
