Baby Altay

Sometimes I’m amazed that despite all the testing and people using my patterns, some typos will show up long after the publication of a pattern. :-/
We were away for a couple days visiting my in-laws, and I visited their local thrifstore. Found great stuff there, and a few cute skeins of yarn. Including this pink and plum combo in sportsweight. Perfect to try a baby version of the Altay hat. I guess I didn’t have the pattern so much in mind any more, and had to rely more on the actual instructions. And bam, saw that bad typo right in the middle. Oops !!! If you bought this pattern you should have already received a download link to get the updated pattern. (otherwise, feel free to contact me)

I like it for a baby. And this striped version looks pretty cool, even if resulting from necessity.
I’m now thinking of publishing a Baby Altay version, maybe together with another Granny square related pattern. :-)

Oh, and of course Maud cried when I told her the hat was not for her doll. Several cousins are having baby girls so this should make a perfect little gift!

The stripes look perfect. You make excellent use of necessity! ;-)

I think the things you do with granny squares are fun and inspiring! I do feel sort of bad for Maud and her dolly though. lol
