Knitting: the old and the new…

Sometimes I wish I could work on my patterns and ChezPlum thing all day. But on the other hand, I’d be too afraid to get bored with it as soon as it became an obligation with pressure (as in, with goal to make money). So, I’m happy with the way it is so far, and always try to put as little pressure on myself even if that means not submitting patterns to magazines, so tempting. But I’m confident time may come for this, someday.

Meanwhile, summer means lazy days and trying to keep the girls busy beween hikes in the local mountains, visiting family and friends or bathing in the lake. I am knitting some, every now and then. And thinking I should publish some of the patterns/designs that have been in limbo for ages. Like this little Mouchelette cardi, which I knit for Prune about 4 years ago. At the time, I saw it a bit like the Roselette, to be worn with the buttons in the back. And suddenly a couple weeks ago, Prune saw it on a shelf and tried it on. Surprinsigly, it fits her nearly better than it did then. Ok, it could do with a bit of added length but really it makes a cute bolero.
So I might rework on that pattern soon. And would like to publish the patterns for my Crochet Crate and Wee booties… I just feel dumb looking in my files and seeing how some patterns are so close to being ready for publishing. :-P

I’ve also started a second prototype of the new cotton knit cardi (which has since gained the name “Gudule”). The pink one was knit with Phildar “coton n°8”, which happens to be SO similar to GGH “Goa”, except a tad thinner. I have lots of “Goa” around, which is both easier to get your hands on and will make a lighter cardi. So I’m reworking the pattern with that yarn and aiming for at least a couple sizes. The good thing is I’m knitting this with 6.5 mm needles and it goes FAST :-)
