Tv or sleep ? – Spoiled !

Laurent and I used to sleep really bad, waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to sleep again until several hours later. Living in a really small place, we sleep in the living-room, so we first started with shutting down all the computers, servers and dsl lines during the night. Then we stopped working late on the computers, which seem to excite the brain cells in a funny way. We already noticed a huge difference.
Then last week he suggested we should try and cut down on TV at night as well. He doesn’t watch it much anyways, and crocheting/dying wool is already so intense I can deal with no tv.
But it seems to work great as well. Feels like I hadn’t slept like that deeply and soundly in a very long time. And that feels great !

And now onto regular fibery chitchat… :-)

A fantastic package was waiting for me in the mailbox today, totally like Xmas !!
It’s my January package from the Rav’Fiber Swap Club, and I was totally spoiled by Christina ! Included are gorgeous textured batts, a yummy BFL braid and amazing very soft natural-colored batts of Jacob X/black zwartble/shearing Hebridean/castlemilk Moorit/white Hebridean (hope I didnā??t mispell those too much!! :-P ). Iā??m totally smitten !! :-D
Oh, and wait thereā??s more !! Also included in the package were some colored neps and pretty beads, plus 2 choccy treats (my brother will love the mini-cooper box, heā??s a total Mini fan!)

I’ve (finally) started writing down the pattern for my “Altay hat” (will explain the name as soon as Laurent takes better pics !), and of course that means crocheting yet another hat to double-check instructions as I go… I should be looking for a couple testers very soon.

I dyed some yarn yesterday for the same Fiber Swap. Can’t show you pics though as I know Val reads this blog… ;-)

So I’ll show this instead: Have had this yummy green & pink wool/silk fiber from Rowen in the very first round of the Fiber Swap for several months, but was afraid the superb colors would blend too much when spun up. So I dyed some Falklands in red and purple and Blended it all on the Hackle, after separarating it all in 4 even lots to achieve a similar enough blend in the end.
Now I’ve got this big bunch of lovely fiber which I’ll probably show in next post… which should be fiber related: Lookout for January’s Fiber Giveaway !!

I can totally relate to the sleep thing! Nothing compares to good deep sleep! Although I do make an exception to night tv watching for Scrubs ( the show, not the uniforms ;).

Your green, red and purple look awesome!
