Girls-sized shawl

I have lovely models for my shawl around… :-) It’s now blocked and looking pretty perfect. I finally decided against the button closure. It’s just lovely, lightweight and warm around my shoulders… In fact I’m wearing it this morning as I type this post.

Oh and I realised I forgot to add details. The yarn was handspun by me from merino fiber from the Rav fiber swap club. I plied this one quite lighlty, didn’t want to overtwist it, to get a nice and squishy yarn. (Let’s just hope it won’t pill too much). I ended up with about 200 m of worsted weight yarn.
I then knit a Feather and fan comfort shawl until I nearly ran out of yarn, and added a picot bind-off to add a little flair to the edging. Oh and I knit it with 8 mm needles to achieve a nice and drapey fabric. Which has a double advantage in my book: makes the most of my small yardage, and really shows off the handspun yarn ! :-D

NB: I did try to get pics of me wearing the shawl, prune being the photographer… But I was wearing the shawl the wrong way up! :-/ Will add better pics later.
