Granny mitts

I’m currently quite obsessed with granny squares. And as if I hadn’t started enough new projects lately, I started working on a new design this week: here’s my first prototype of granny mitts. Still needs a thumb and probably nicer-looking buttonloop.
These are made with some Silk Garden I won in a bloggy contest ages ago. Nice Hey ? If it all works out fine I’ll probably make more with colorfull Kureyon as well. Yep, I’m a sucker for bright colors..! :-P
And the good thing is it seems you’ll need only 1 skein to make a pair of mitts. I envision several versions of those, probably all in the same pattern.

I also found this very cute hoodie pattern on Ravelry (also on Etsy) for which I gathered a collection of assorted skeins in shades of pink, plum, grey and khaki. Started a few squares too.. I guess making granny squares are just what I need these days : no need to think or plan much ahead, and yet I can keep my hands moving on something fibery ! :-) The pattern looks slighly wonky in places but I’ll adjust things as I go if necessary.

    Wow, nice work!
Mittens are the best (struggling with stitches and yarn, to design one also, these weeks..)

I love those mitts! Can’t wait to see them in person.
