So we went to my parents last week-end. And my mum wanted something to hold the curtains (can’t find the word in my online dictionary, they’re called “embrases” in french) in our freshly-renovated bedroom. I offered her to whip up something with my hooks and ta-da, the next day it looked like this :

Couldn’t be simpler to make: I used my ole trusty “Wellness” by Gedifra and 5 mm hook,
chained 70 , then
ch2, dc accross
ch 2, dc 6 (to create a sturdier area to sew button) then continued in eyelets that can be used as buttonholes : (dc, skip 1, ch1)

I ended with one row of slip stitch to even up the look and tension of that second side. Sewed a button and voila ! :-)

They end up looking pretty cool. I don’t think I’d dare call it a true “project” but still it was fun.. :-)

I could also show you the yarn I spun from those mixed fibers from the last post but I need to take pics and I’m not sure I’ll have time for that today : friends are visiting from NZ and we’ll head to the Vercors for a long week-end with them. The weather is supposed to be terrible..we’ll probably round up by a nice fire in the chimney and roast saussages there… ;-)

Not sure when we’ll be back. We were supposed to take a couple weeks holidays in the south, but my husband is suffering from pretty bad teeth problems requiring surgery so he’s in constant pain and doesn’t bear heat very well. Add to that the fact that our car needs heavy fixing … so those family holidays in the south may well happen later in september !

Finally, just a heads-up: I’ve just pre-oredered my “Sit and spin” art yarn DVD from jacey at Insubordiknit, Yay! She’s giving cheap shipping rates too. It will be so nice to be able to learn stuff as if I was able to attend an actual spinning class in the US… :-D
